Letter to You | May 2025

Hi there, I hope this finds you well.

I caught the tail end of spring and saw cherry blossoms in Central Park. It was a perfect day, and the flowers were so gorgeous. The Boathouse was temporarily closed during the pandemic, reopened, and then permanently closed. It reopened last year, and I got to visit it after seeing the cherry blossoms. There's something uniquely powerful about going to a place you thought was not possible to visit again.

Ramen Akaneko is such a great show. I binged it in two days. It reminds me of Shirokuma Cafe, which I also adore. I guess I just have a soft spot for shows that revolve around cute animals and food. I live vicariously through Tamako and Sasako.

I attended a birthday party in May and used the helium balloon tank for the first time. The balloons float up to the ceiling and gently bobble around like colorful clouds. The last time I was at a proper birthday party was so long ago. I was going through old photos and came across a picture of my friend's birthday party at a karaoke bar. The photos are all pixelated, and that's how long ago it was. These memories are like those balloon clouds —soft and distant.

Am I one of those clouds for my old friends?

Yours truly :)
